An interesting article in the Times Higher about the Australian equivalent of the REF, the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA). No funding allocation is based on its results - yet. But it's interesting to see that they will be using a 'basket of metrics' - considered by HEFCE but ultimately thought to be too unreliable in the UK.
