Grants Factory: Alternative Sources of Funding for your Research

Alison Coles
Whilst many academics and researchers have a good understanding of the traditional sources of funding for their work, they may be less aware of ‘alternative’ sources. There’s a confusing funding landscape out there, but Kent has in place a supportive framework of linked services to help you benefit from it.

Research Services works closely with Kent Innovation and Enterprise (KIE) and the Development Office in supporting staff in applying for external funding for their projects. Research Services deals with funding for research, KIE covers parternship development, external business engagement including third sector, commercialisation and consultancy, and the Development Office supports philanthropic giving.

Lesley Chater
Led by Alison Coles (Director of Development) and Lesley Chater (Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager), this workshop is an opportunity to find out about the work of our sister services, the kind of projects they support, and the funders they target.

The session will run from 2-4pm on 22 May in Cornwallis NE Seminar Room 8 (CNE08). It's free and open to all. Refreshments will be provided, but do let me know if you want to come along so that I can get an idea of numbers.
